PROSPECTO EN LA MIRA 2016

Amed Rosario | Rank: 70 Team: St. Lucie Mets (A Adv) ETA: 2017 Position: SS Age: 20 DOB: 11/20/1995 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 2" Weight: 170 lb. Signed: July 2, 2012 - NYM VIDEO Other Lists: Top 30 New York Mets Prospects (#2) Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 45 | Run: 60 | Arm: 65 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55 Since Rosario made his pro debut in 2013 after signing for $1.75 million in July 2012, the Dominican shortstop has been at least three years younger than the average position player at his level. He's held his own at every step and now appears ready to hit the upper levels of the Mets' system. Rosario actually finished the 2015 season in Double-A and played in the Eastern League playoffs after the Mets jumped him over low Class A ball to the Class A Advanced Florida State League for his full-season debut. He's continued to employ a contact-oriented approach at the plate, with some ability to hit the gaps for extra bases. Extremely athletic with a projectable frame, there's still strength Rosario can add, which should allow him to drive the ball more, with some home run pop to come. He has outstanding speed, hands, footwork and a very strong arm, everything he needs to stay at shortstop long term. Those who see Gavin Cecchini as a future second baseman likely view Rosario as the Mets' shortstop of the future. He could be more than ready to take over full time right when free-agent acquisition Asdrubal Cabrera's contract is up. 2016 FSL Team G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB AVG OBP SLG OPS STL 66 265 27 82 10 8 3 40 21 36 13 .309 .359 .442 .800 Minors 66 265 27 82 10 8 3 40 21 36
